Rules

Arrange the four 0 cards vertically on the play table. Deal eight cards to each player. The remaining cards (if any) form the draw pile. Tip: for a faster game, discard some cards from the draw pile (e.g. with three players, discard eight cards).

The player to the left of the dealer begins, and the initial turn order is clockwise — set the turn direction indicator to show this. Each player's turn proceeds as follows:

  1. Draw a card if the draw pile is not empty.
  2. Play one card from your hand at the right end of a line. You can only play a card on a line if it matches the coloured quadrant of the 0 card. (Most cards only have one quadrant, but there are eight cards with two quadrants.)
  3. Announce the total for the line. The +1,...,+8 cards add the given amount to the total. The -3 cards subtract three from the total. The ×2 cards double the last card (not the whole line).
    • If another player thinks you got the total wrong, they can challenge you. If their challenge is correct, you take all of the cards in the line into your hand (except the 0). Otherwise, they take all of the cards.
    • If the total is at least 24, the preceding player (in the current turn order) takes the cards from the end of the line, up to and including the first card (if any) marked ; the player before them then continues taking the cards, and so on, until only one card (besides the 0) remains. This card is removed from play.
    • If the total is exactly 24, the immediately take another turn.
  4. If you have no cards left, you win. Otherwise it is the next player's turn, except:
    • if the last card you played was marked then the next player skips their turn;
    • if the last played card was marked then the turn order reverse (flip the turn order card).
